When Things Don’t Work Out

First of all, relax. It’s not the end of the world, but the end of class. That’s right! Life places many people in our lives to teach us things, and if the time has come (and you’ve either grown a part or aim to move in different directions with different interests) … know that it’s unfortunate, but both of you will survive to love again.

Try to remain friends (forever) if that’s possible. Give each other a month or two or a year or three (or more if necessary) apart to grow and learn on your own. Then, if and when nature says it’s all right, venture back (into each other’s lives) as friends to support one another.

I’ll mention in another section … friends, good friends, are so hard to come by. We work hard in our life to protect and support those we come into contact with. When you’ve invested months and years into certain relationships, it’s a good idea NOT to just throw all that (hard work) away and to keep one another in mind – even if it’s simply as a cheerleader, "Hey, I hope you find who you’re looking for! I love you for that – go find ’em! My prayers are with you, always!"

Above all, never promote jealous feelings, flaunt your own happiness / their sadness in the face of the other for vengeful or other purposes. Humbly lay low with your new love while the old one has (new) room to find theirs, uninhibited by your (potentially) distracting, negative actions. Don’t do it. That’s B.S. and you know it. Keep to yourself – and let the other go (free).
